An award winning easily accessible River Walk has been developed and you will encounter local projects in action which are enhancing the biodiversity of the river and surrounding wetlands.  The river plays host to several bird species and interpretative panels along the route provide information on the bird, fish, and mammals that make this area their home.  The river is popular with anglers and kayaking activity is also growing due to new river rapids and to the good access points provided.
