The Blacksmith's Seat

For over a century, the Shanballymore sandstone seat stood inside Diskin’s forge in Curraghan, a place where farmers waited for the blacksmith and shared the news of the day.

In 2021, the seat was gifted to Milltown Heritage Park by the Brogan family of Dillonbrook and placed here in memory of Johnny Brogan.

In this short film (2025), Johnny’s granddaughter Keva shares the story of how this special seat found its new home in the park.
