Martin Connolly of Kilgevrin Volunteer in the Ranks is a fascinating book focussed on north Galway during the period of the Land War, the War of Independence, and the Civil War. It also provides an
insight to the struggle for independence in south Derry and East Down, culminating in the Northern
Offensive.

Milltown Heritage Group hosted the launch of the book in the Community Centre on 20 November 2022. The event was very well attended, and all the copies of the recent publication were sold. The author David Connolly, who spoke at the event about his grandfather Martin, has kindly agreed to provide free access to a digital copy of the book, for anyone who wants to read it on their device.
