Milltown Heritage Group were invited along to Claregalway Castle for A Taste of Galway’s Past event. This event celebrated the rich food heritage of County Galway.  Séan O’ Tuairisg, Cathaoirleach of the County of Galway launched this event.

Our local schools Milltown NS and Belmont NS presented the work that they have collected and collated on their local food heritage to Jonny Dillon, Archivist, National Folklore Collections. This work will form part of our National Heritage narrative both now and into the future.

Milltown Heritage Group showcased part of their food heritage project. A selection of churns and other items which has been used in the past for the butter making process were on display throughout the day.
