Telegram

This is a telegram sent by the Flannery family, Milltown on the 23rd Jan 1971 to the Warwick Hotel, Galway to be read out at the wedding breakfast congratulating Mr Jimmy Burke and Carmel Coyne on their wedding. Carmel was a sister of Mary Glynn, Milltown (wife of Frank Glynn). Post office charges were dictated by number of words on telegram plus delivery charges. Note number of words (12). This was one of the usual ways of congratulating the newly married coupled.
