From Milltown to Brooklyn: Launch of the Digital Edition of An Gaodhal:

The University of Galway, in partnership with New York University will launch a digital edition of An Gaodhal(1881–1898), the world’s first Irish-language newspaper,on Fri 6th Feb at 11am -1pm, in the Michael D. Higgins Auditorium, University of Galway.

Founded in Brooklyn by Milltown native Micheál Ó Lócháin, An Gaodhal connected Irish speakers in Ireland, New York, and across the diaspora. The launch will be officially marked by Minister Dara Calleary. A proud moment celebrating a local Milltown figure whose work has reached across the globe. All welcome to attend.
