The Clare River is an important habitat for many protected species such as salmon, kingfishers and otters. We owe a great deal to the river and the wildlife it supports. Find out about the deep-rooted local traditions and connections with the river. It is a source of water for the community. Find out how Milltown got its name. Many of the local angling spots have colourful names including Poll a tSagart, and the Blue Pig River.
