Blasta is a campaign to archive recipes and food artifacts cherished by families & communities across Ireland that explore the history of the island over the past 150 years. A partnership with TG4, the National Folklore Collection and the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland, this unique project explores the stories, the histories and the folklore behind family recipes and food objects currently in the hands of members of the public.

In this episode, Máirtín Mac Con Iomaire is off to Galway to meet some of the locals and explore the tradition behind mackerel, what will the people of the Galway make of this old fishermans recipe?
