He went on looking for the cows and he never felt until it was night and he didn’t know where he was. At last he saw a small light and he said to himself that he would go in. So he knocked at the door and a big tall thin man came to the door and opened it and he said “come in we were waiting for you we will have supper soon”. He went in and he saw a woman with two big long teeth and she said ” sit down we were waiting for [sic]“. So he was getting afraid of them. He wasn’t long within until a wolf and went back in the room. He was only back in the room when another one came in and went back also and they didn’t speak at all. At long last they came down and they sat at the head of the table and one of them said to the herd “do you remember the day that you took the thorn out of my foot and you didn’t do me any harm?”. “I do” said the man and I’ll do a good favor for you tonight”. So he ordered the servant to get ready the supper. They ate their supper ant they went to bed. The wolf then said to him go to bed and the cows will be at home before you. He went to bed and he fell asleep and when he awoke in the morning where was he but near his own reek of hay. He got up and looked for the cows in the field but they were nowhere to be seen. He looked in the next field and there he saw the three loveliest cows you ever saw. He said “These are not mine and I must put them out”. So he brought them as far as the gate but the wolf wouldn’t let them out and he got three lovely cows instead of the two he lost.
