House still Hughes property
My grandmother Mary Hughes was born in Milltown, Belmont Tuam Galway. I believe I still have cousins that live in the town. Maureen and Jack Hughes, brother and sister, children of Jim Hughes.
My Grandmother, Ellen O’Grady place of birth. Listed on the 1901 census as a Millers Daughter. She married Bartholomew Cawley and lived in Shrule until she passed away in 1956.
Sadly Jack Hughes passed away during the summer of 2021. He was a fine gentleman who always had a smile, a kind word and a colorful story of times past. RIP.
