Some of the grave stones told life stories almost too sad to even contemplate.

One read

“Erected By Patrick Meehan

In memory of his beloved wife

Ellen Meehan Nee Glynn

A native of Milltown, County Galway who died March 1909

Also their children

Michael Died 1892 Aged 3

Patrick Died 1894 Aged 4

John Died 1899 Aged 11 months

And

Patricia, Thomas and Ann Meehan who died in infancy”

Is it even possible to contemplate how poor Ellen Meehan Nee Glynn from Milltown County Galway dealt with the loss of all those children and she so far away from home?
