Certificate for cooking

My granny Ann is from Caherlistrane and in 1955, she got a certificate for cooking at school. She was 14 years old. She got this in Abbeyleix. Granny learned how to make apple tarts from her mammy who was my great granny. The recipe has been passed down from generation to generation. She makes them for special occasions such as birthdays and anniversaries. She grows her apples. I like to help her pick the apples and my sister peels them. I love my granny’s apple tarts. When we have a family do, we all look forward to a slice of tart and ice-cream. Mammy is showing my sister how to make Granny’s famous Apple Tart.
