My Granny's Serving Plate

This was my granny’s serving plate for the turkey at Christmas. This large plate is over 70 years old. My granny was from Irishtown Co Mayo but then moved to Milltown and lived there for over 60 years. My granny got it as a gift from a neighbour. My granny lived across from the school. There was no staff room in the school so she made tea for all the teachers. The plate is a light blue colour. There are two birds on it. My granny used to make scones and they were lovely and my mom still makes them. My granny got married to John Kelly. They had five children, all girls.
