Recipe Book 1930
Inherited by Bernie Naughton (Kilaphrasogue)
Milltown Heritage Group
A Charles Letts’s diary is where May Hayes (Nee Howard) kept her compilation of recipes that she gathered over time and stored in this hardback diary. On the front cover of the diary is a stamped mark of 1930 embossed within an oval shape on the front cover.
This recipe book is now in the hands of her daughter Bernie who believes the newspaper cuttings are stuck in with a flour and water paste.
Ellert Forbes suggests some interesting original fillings in ‘I am a Sandwich Man’ article. Articles on household hints, cures for colds, handwritten knitting patterns, a variety of recipes and much more are also featured.
