Recipe given to me by Granny from Belmont
Every year for Christmas day dessert my granny makes a sherry trifle for all the guests on Christmas day and this is her recipe.
2 trifle sponges
2 tins of fruit cocktail.
Half a glass of sherry.
Homemade custard for the top
She puts the trifle sponges in a bowl.
She adds the tins of cocktail.
She mixes the jelly with hot water and pours it on top of the sponge and fruit.
And adds the half glass of sherry.
And puts it in the fridge to set.
When it’s set she adds the custard.
